The Department of Laboratory Technologies at Al-Amal College organized a scientific seminar titled “Psychological Preparation of the Patient Before Blood Collection,” presented by Assistant Lecturer Fadhel Rajeh Sawadi, and attended by a number of faculty members and students of the department.
This seminar falls in line with the directives of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Mufid Jalil Awad, emphasizing the importance of enhancing students’ scientific and behavioral skills, and equipping them with practical knowledge that contributes to improving their professional competence.
The seminar addressed the psychological aspects preceding the blood collection process and the importance of interacting with patients in a humane and professional manner to ensure their comfort and alleviate feelings of fear or anxiety. This, in turn, positively impacts the accuracy of laboratory results and the safety of medical procedures.
The seminar witnessed notable engagement from the audience, with numerous questions and contributions enriching the discussion and expanding the students’ awareness of the psychological dimension in daily laboratory practice.
